streetorigin.com is a stable, functioning prototype for a simple idea. The goal of this platform is to display the etymology of streets with a simple click-through interaction. The data is curated from municipal archives to be as relevant and accurate as possible. Beyond simply telling a unique story, streetorigin.com also provides analytic data which displays further information about regional influences.
At the current moment there is only supported data for 3 lower Vancouver Island districts: Esquimalt, Victoria and Oak Bay.

The ultimate goal for this platform is national scalability and analytic comparison. There are also many other cool easter eggs and features which should be implemented if enough support can be accrued.
